On Monday 10th July at Anthony Mangnall MP’s kind invitation, our APF group with other association members travelled up to Westminster for a question and answer session with Cabinet Ministers.
Anthony managed to coral an unbelievable amount of talent: Greg Hands, Party Chairman, Mel Stride, Secretary of state for Trade and Pensions, Graham Stuart Minister for Energy Security and Net Zero, Steve Barclay Secretary of State for Health and Pensions, Steve Baker Minister of State for Northern Ireland, and George Freeman Minister of State in the department for Science, Research and Innovation and Technology. Each addressed the group on current issues facing their department.
Our delegates asked challenging and wide-ranging questions, and each minister graciously gave up a significant amount of their time to answer.
We also were given a delightful tour of the Palace of Westminster compered delightfully humorously by our MP.
Those who attended have commented that they found the meeting inspiring. There was confidence and hope that another term will be secured for a Conservative Government.
A huge thank you to our APF chair Richard Hosking and Anthony Mangnall MP for organising the event (with the help of Nina, the Sam-wiches, Callum and Jenny). It was a remarkable privilege to be able to attend. An extra thank you to Richard for the Gs & Sam for the Ts that smoothed the train journey home.
